Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at NTNU, Trondheim, Norway since 2005.

Professor of Medicine/Cardiovascular Physiology and a doctor at St Olavs University Hospital.

Medical degree in 1985

Doctoral degree in 1992

Professor of Medicine at NTNU, 2002

Research background: echocardiography, stroke and rehabilitation of heart patients.

A member of the Joint Committee of the Nordic Medical Research Councils, NOS-M and has been the chairman for the Scientific Review Group for Biomedical Sciences of the European Science Foundation since 2013.
