What is your research area?
I work in the field of cancer immunology studying the interactions between the immune system and cancer with particular focus on ways to increase the anti-tumor properties of T-cells.
How did you become interested in the topic?
After finishing my PhD I was looking to change fields (within cancer research) and it was about the time that immunotherapy was taking off and it seemed like an interesting thing to be a part of.
What do you prefer to do on your spare time?
I enjoy cooking and eating (not the washing up part though) but also drawing, wasting time on youtube cat videos and reading blogs. Travelling is the other great hobby of mine.
What was the last book you read?
I’ve re-read Chuck Palahniuk’s Fight Club ten years after I first read it. Still good.
What are you going to blog about?
I will blog about the joys, mundane and soul-crushing experiences of life as a scientist.
What are your expectations of blogging in the Curie?
I expect to provide entertaining blog posts that could start conversations about the importance of science but focusing on the human side of it, the very people that push it forward.
